My Three Wedding Day Looks

Assembling outfits for my wedding day was one of my favorite parts of the wedding planning process. We got married at an outdoor beach ceremony in Tulum, so dressing for the warm weather was my primary focus when narrowing in on my looks.

I wanted a more classic, simple bridal look that would be timeless, but then injected more fun into my getting ready and late night second look. Scroll through to learn more about each style and shop each item I wore!

Getting Ready

I saw this gorgeous feminine, ruffled robe featured on Style Me Pretty and immediately went on a Google deep dive to find it! The robe was a For Love & Lemons collab for Victoria’s Secret and though it was pricey for a robe, I fell in love! They partner on new collections each season and all of their pieces are always so feminine and delicate. Though this one is currently sold out, you could likely find it on Poshmark or browse their latest collection for a new, similar style.

Since the robe is very sheer, I opted for a nude bandeau bra and boyshorts from Skims to wear underneath.

Wedding

When I went wedding dress shopping with my mom around Seattle, I already had a sense of a few styles I was interested in trying. Funny enough, none of those dresses spoke to me and I ultimately landed on the Primrose by Theia ivory crepe dress with spaghetti straps from Dress Theory. They recommended a seamstress who works out of the same location, and I worked with her beginning three months before the wedding for tailoring and to add matching buttons along the back zipper to elevate the look.

I loved the idea of a long veil to add drama, opting for a cathedral veil from Rue de Seine. A long veil would also stay put in case there was wind during the beach ceremony - no one wants to see a short veil flapping away in the wind.

Shoes were next and I found an amazing pair of Jimmy Choo pumps on the Real Real. Since pumps are absolutely not suitable for the sand, I considered these ‘photo shoes’ that I wore pre-ceremony for portraits, family, and bridal party photos and then changed into comfortable Asos Bershka square toe sandals for the ceremony that worked well in the sand.

Second look

I was excited about keeping my wedding dress timeless, but then getting playful with a second look! I don’t like the look of a bustled wedding dress, so knew I wanted to switch into something I could dance in.. and what better than a sequin mini dress for a late night in Tulum! After our first look, I slipped away with my bridesmaids to change - even the bridesmaids changed from their cloud blue bridesmaid dresses into a second look of white midi or mini dresses.

This Winona Synergy wrap dress that I fell in love with was cut like a robe, so I tailored it with loop holes to hold the satin belt and with clasps to keep the neck and flaps secure on the dance floor. I kept the same sandals on, but changed my earrings to beautiful hanging ivory beaded petal earrings from A.B. Ellie.

Changing for the dance floor was one of my favorite decisions of the wedding since it made dancing so easy, kept my wedding dress cleaner, and allowed me to really let loose and be comfortable.
